Sian Hughes is an experienced screenwriter with a number of film and TV credits.
A screenplay of her short story ‘Consumed’, which features in her short story collection ‘Pain Sluts’ and stars ‘The Descent’s’ Shauna Macdonald, recently won awards a number of international film festivals, including Best Short Film at the Reykjavik Short Film Festival, Best Short at the London BELIFE Film Festival, and a nomination for Best Short at the Copenhagen Short Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Sian Hughes’s network credits include ‘Natural Cures for Common Ailments’, broadcast on HTV Wales as part of the Screen Gems series, and ‘Marw Stripio’, broadcast on S4C during the ‘Saith Ffilm Fer’ season.
In 2022, Sian was also commissioned by Amici Films to write a screenplay called ‘Open House’ exploring the strange double life of a hoarder.
She is also developing a ghostly feature film idea with Downton Abbey director Philip John inspired by the unsettling history of Craig Y Nos castle in South Wales, once a sanatorium for children.
