SCREENWRITING

In addition to writing books and facilitating workshops, I’m also an experienced screenwriter with a number of film and TV credits.

A screenplay of my short story ‘Consumed’, which features in the short story collection ‘Pain Sluts’ and stars ‘The Descent’s’ Shauna Macdonald, recently won awards at a number of international film festivals, including Best Short Film at the Reykjavik Short Film Festival, Best Short at the London BELIFE Film Festival, and a nomination for Best Short at the Copenhagen Short Film Festival.

Meanwhile, my broadcast credits include ‘Natural Cures for Common Ailments’, broadcast on HTV Wales as part of the Screen Gems series, and ‘Marw Stripio’, broadcast on S4C during the ‘Saith Ffilm Fer’ season.

In 2023, I was commissioned by Amici Films to write a screenplay called ‘Open House’ exploring the strange double life of a hoarder, and I’m also developing a ghostly feature film idea with Downton Abbey director Philip John inspired by the unsettling history of Craig Y Nos castle in South Wales, once a sanatorium for children.

Finally, as a scriptwriting facilitator working in schools and the community, I have also collaborated on a number of scripts with young people, many of which have been made into shorts.
